The Liebster Award

I recently have been nominated for the Liebster Award by the gorgeous Cat Malone - http://mentallybeautiful.com/

For anyone who is unaware of what this award is all about, look no further, I will explain all.
The Liebster Awards is an award given by blogger to other bloggers who have less than 200 followers.
The main focus of this award is to encourage new friendships and connections with other bloggers. When nominated you are given 11 questions to answer in a blog post.

The rules are as followed:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog.
  2. Display the award on your blog — by including it in your post and/or displaying it using a “widget” or a “gadget”. (Note that the best way to do this is to save the image to your own computer and then upload it to your blog post.)
  3. Answer 11 questions about yourself, which will be provided to you by the person who nominated you.
  4. Provide 11 random facts about yourself.
  5. Nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have less than 200 followers.
  6. Create a new list of questions for the blogger to answer.
  7. List these rules in your post. Once you have written and published it, you then have to:
  8. Inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster award and provide a link for them to your post so that they can learn about it (they might not have ever heard of it!)

1. Is your blog serious or a hobby in your spare time?

Umm well at the beginning I was taking it very seriously and would post constantly, now not so much, I think it's now a hobby.

2. How would you define your blog?

I would have to describe it mainly as a beauty/lifestyle blog

3. What achievement are you most proud of?

Crickey...I really had to think about this one. I think maybe my proudest achievement so far was moving to the UK on my own,
(sounds so lame) but it really made me grow up and do things I wouldn't necessarily have done before.

4. Where do you like to be when you are blogging?

I literally do not mind where I am as long as I am completely alone, being around other people distracts me and therefor can't focus.

5. Which blogger do you admire?

Now this is going to sound so cheesy as she is the one who nominated me but Cat Malone at http://mentallybeautiful.com/

6. Why?

Cat is a blogger in which I hugely admire because not only is she an amazing person but her blog is also,
I've seen her blog grow and blossom into something truly fantastic.
No matter how stressed out or busy she gets, she always seems to come out with these brilliant posts
(in which I oh so envy her for lol)
I could literally read her blog for hours on end, 100% fantastic, I can see it going along way in the near future!

7. If you could write about a topic you don't currently blog about what would it be?

I would write about World War II, I have a weird interest with it (don't ask)
I mean it would probably bore everyone to sleep, so that is why I'm not a blogger of history!

8. What's your signature beauty tip or trick?

Hmmmm I'm not sure if I have a signature beauty trick or tip... I think my only religious beauty trick I do is, when applying
bronzer to cheekbones I also apply it to my jawline as it helps to define it.

9. What's the most important thing you took from your school days?

Well I was never very good at school, but I would have to say I learnt not to take crap from anyone and to just be yourself,
If you want to do something go and do it, don't let anyone stand in your way.

10. Where would you like to be in five years time?

I'd like to be in a hot country, on the beach, with a drink in my hand :P

11. Have you written a bucket list?

No I have not, I think once I get a bit older I might consider it as it's a great idea :)

Eleven Facts About Me

1. I had my appendix removed on valentines day, nothing says romance like blood and guts

2. My favourite animal is a capybara. Fun fact, they're the largest living rodent, insert image here --->

3. I've dyed my hair 9 different colours

4. I went to college to study hair & media makeup, didn't enjoy it so left

5. I strongly dislike small dogs

6. I have an intolerance to milk, if I drink it my head will explode and I will DIE

7. My favourite film is E.T

8. I'm a truly terrible swimmer, I may drown left unsupervised

9. I have a gold fish called Harry

10. I hate the cold

11. I have an obsession with halloumi

I Would Like To Nominate

My Questions For You

1. What's your favourite song at the moment?

2.
Which item could you not live without?

3. What is your favourite thing to blog about?

4. Where is your favourite place in the world?

5. Why?

6.  Do you have any hobbies besides blogging?

7. Can you play any musical instruments?

8. What are you scared of?

9. Do you prefer tea or coffee?

10. Why did you start your blog?

11. What are your 3 wishes in life?

And a special thanks to Cat again for nominating me, and getting me back into blogging

Very Thirsty Hair!! (Bleach London Review)

Hi everyone,
So recently I've had quite a bit of trouble with my hair, this is a bit of a long story, so sit back and relax for this one!

About a week ago I got it into my head that it would be a great idea to go blonde! (Side note, I have been blonde before and am naturally a dirty blonde,so I do know the whole process of going blonde) last time I went blonde I did it professionally at a salon, this time I took it upon myself to dye it (this was never a good idea) at the time I had brown hair with blonde ombré, so just dyed the top blonde, obviously it turned out a brassy orange, I then went off and got bleach and I actually think I bleached my hair twice in the same day (which is NOT a good idea EVER) basically I ruined my hair and it was completely dead and lifeless as to be expected!

I then ended up dying my hair back to brown and wanted to get my ombré back!
I left my hair brown for about a week as I didn't want to damage it even more by doing the ombré! I decided to try and find some hair masks to try and put moisture back into my hair and repair it, I got a few but none of them really helped

UNTIL..........

I came across this hair mask from Bleach London, I have never heard of this brand before and thought it looked quite good! It is called Bleach Reincarnation Mask,it claims to resurrect and hydrate bleached or coloured hair and improve elasticity. And is enriched with sunflower seed extract and micro wheat proteins to give great shine and strengthen colour vibrancy.

This is what made me me buy this product as it is designed for damaged bleached hair, I'm not going to lie, I did think this was going to be another one of those products that claim to do all these wonderful things to your hair but not actually help the problem what so ever!

This here is what the product looks like

So it says to wash hair with shampoo, towel dry and then apply mask to damp hair, leave in for about 15-20 minutes and wash out.
I applied it to my hair as directed, and wow!!!! Just wow!!! I was actually so surprised with the outcome, like my hair was so unbelievably damaged before, and after using this it has made my hair practically back to normal! It made me so happy to see my hair looking normal again, and was finally able to have my fringe down instead of pinned back!
So if you have bleached the crap out of your hair or is in bad shape and you think there's no hope for your hair ever getting healthy again, before you reach for the scissors I definitely suggest you go out a pick this up!! It's in boots for only £6.00 which is a killer price!

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Let me know if you have used this product or any other products by Bleach London, would love to hear your thoughts & opinions!

Makeup Revolution Review

Hey y'all,
Today I am doing a very exciting Makeup Revolution review, this is also a collaboration post that I'm doing with an amazing blogger called Cat that I met, and who has become a very good friend of mine! So, I absolutely advise you to head on over to her blog and give it a little read. I'll leave the links bellow!

So on the top of my list is the Makeup Revolution London-Ultra Eyeshadows Flawless. This is a ultra thin and sleek black palette, with rose gold writing. Inside we have 32 eyeshadows ranging from matte to shimmer, it will come with a plastic film ontop with the names of each eyeshadow. There is a long mirror above the shadows which is very handy!
When applying the eyeshadow I was happily surprised with the outcome, the matte eyeshadows are very visible when applied, although I did notice that I had to apply more of the shimmer shadows for it to be more visible and bolder. Overall I really enjoyed this palette, the eyeshadows are a great quality and don't seem to be cheaply made, the palette itself is at an amazing price for just £8!

I also got the Makeup Revolution London-Blush & Contour palette. Again this is in the same style as the eyeshadow palette, I got this blush palette in Hot Spice. Inside there is a mirror on top and 8 shades, shimmer & matte, there is also a merged baked blusher and a merged baked highlighter. This palette has a very good visable outcome, and is easy to apply. I personally love the highlighter and merged baked blusher! The blushers are very warm tones and I like them a lot! This palette is £6

Next I have The Matte Effect-Cover & Conceal, concealer. This is a stick concealer in no.03 light. This concealer is easy to apply, and gives a good coverage . It's not too drying on the skin which is always good! It covers and conceals imperfections quite well. It again is great value for money at only £1!! Bargain if you ask me!

Lastly I got Makeup Revolution London-Amazing Volume mascara, I love this mascara so so much, I got it in the colour black. It makes my eyelashes super long and spreads out lashes evenly. This mascara doesn't leave my lashes too clumpy either! It has a rubber wand which in a sort of rounded oval shape! For its price it is an extremely good mascara and is almost as good as bigger  brands such as bourjois! This was around the £2 mark

Well that is my Makeup Revolution haul & review, please make sure you go and check out the lovely & gorgous Cat, to have a look at what Makeup Revolution products she has bought!
thank you so much for reading, comments/opinions welcome!

20 Beauty Myths

20 Beauty Myths

Hey all, today I'm going to be sharing with you 20 beauty myths.
So sit back, relax & enjoy!

Myth no.1

  • Pumping your mascara brush makes for better application
You may think you’re picking up more mascara, but actually air is being pumped into the mascara tube, making your mascara dry out and go clumpy. This leads to dry, flaky lashes and bacteria in the mascara tube. Instead, swirl the wand inside the tube to pick up more mascara.

Myth no.2

  • Once your blush shatters after dropping it, it’s done
Hang on to that shattered makeup, ladies. All you need to do is pour rubbing alcohol into the broken compact or container and gently mix until the makeup turns to a clay consistency. Wait for the product to dry and you are set with makeup that’s good as new!

Myth no.3

  • Wearing makeup every day is bad for your skin
While wearing tons of makeup can be heavy on your skin , wearing makeup on a daily basis won’t actually make your skin worse. Although, a day with no makeup feels great! The real cause of skin damage is leaving makeup on overnight.

Myth no.4

  • Your shampoo familiarizes itself to your hair and no longer performs
It’s great to change up hair products, it’s not absolutely necessary. If your hair is feeling flat, dry or damaged after continued use of one specific shampoo, don’t blame the shampoo! Usually, the problem is due to build up from hairsprays, serums & oils. If this happens, try a clarifying shampoo once a week.

Myth no.5

  • Filing your nails can be done in any direction
Always file your nails in the same direction, this makes your nails to grow faster and longer. Filing from both directions on one nail can lead to breakage and peeling.

Myth no.6

  • Steam opens pores
Let’s be clear on one thing, pores do not have muscles or hinges, no amount of steam or cold water will open and close them! Steam will simply help to loosen the dirt inside.

Myth no.7

  • If you leave your hair for long enough it will begin to clean itself
A clean scalp and hair equals a healthier scalp and hair. When left for 3-4 days the scalp can become flaky, itchy and uncomfortable with a mild tenderness and the hair itself will become dull and lank. So wash your hair!

Myth no.8

  • You'll eventually outgrow acne
In fact, women in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and even 50s can have acne just like teenagers, and the treatment for it remains the same.

Myth no.9

  • Expensive cosmetics are better than inexpensive
The absolute truth is that there are good and bad products in all price categories. It's all about the formulation, not the price

Myth no.10

  • It's good when your products cool or tingle skin
This sensation is your skin telling you it is being irritated, not helped.

Myth no.11
  • Blackheads relate to cleanliness and can be scrubbed away
Blackheads may make your skin look dirty, but they are unrelated to dirt

Myth no.12

  • Antioxidants can make wrinkles go away
While antioxidants help ward off free radicals, they can't make existing wrinkles disappear.

Myth no.13
  • Popping a spot is fine if only done once in awhile
Please try your hardest to leave your skin alone, especially during a breakout! Messing with a spot will spread oil and bacteria to the clean parts of your skin.

Myth no.14

  • Obsessive face washing can eliminate acne
We know it seems backward, but over washing your face will dry it out and remove natural oils. Stick to washing your face twice-daily, once in the morning and once at night.

Myth no.15
  • Tanning in the sun clears up bad skin
Sun exposure just causes additional skin irritation and damage. Make sure to cover your face with a good oil-free sunblock to prevent any irritation if you're going to be out in the sun.

Myth no.16
  • Certain cleansers can make your pores smaller
Pore size is genetic, there are tons of products out there claiming to shrink the size of your pores, they don't work to minimize pores permanently. What they can do is temporarily make your pores appear smaller

Myth no.17
  • Matching eye shadow will make your eye color pop
Actually, contrasting your eye makeup with your eye color is what will really stand out. Here are a couple recommendations based on your eye colour

  • Green/Hazel: Plum, deep browns, and light golden hues
  • Blue: Smoky charcoals, chocolate, and bright berry tones
  • Brown: Soft pinks, natural beige, and shades of bronze

Myth no.18

  • Cutting your hair will make hair grow faster
I wish this one was true, but your hair will grow at its own pace (usually about half an inch per month) no matter how many trims you get. Don't just stop getting your hair trimmed, as it will look much healthier without the split ends!

Myth no.19

  • You don't need sunscreen on a cloudy day
The sun's damaging UV rays are still in full effect even on a cloudy day.

Myth no.20
  • You Only Need One Foundation Colour All Year
You may think that your skin tone doesn't change throughout the year, but it does. Even if you're someone who doesn't spend a lot of time in the sun, your skin still slightly changes from season to season. Don't be one of those people who walks around with a face that doesn't match their neck! (not a good look)

That's my 20 beauty myths , hope you enjoyed reading this and found it somewhat helpful or interesting. Don't be afraid to leave any comments you may have, I love to hear what you have to say.
Till next time

Guilty Pleasures

Everyone has their own guilty pleasures, so today I am going to share with you my probably very sad and cringey guilty pleasures, so enjoy!
For anyone who doesnt know what guilty pleasures are, they are basically things that you like that you really know you shouldn't
I'm gonna kick off with

  • Robbie Williams, I have no idea why I like this guy so much, I just really love his old songs such as millennium and feel. Also when I was younger I used to tell people at school that I was related to him! (I was a cool kid)

  • This is super sad and cringey that I have this but my 1D pillow, yes pillow! In it's defense, its really squishy and soft it just so happens to have 'the boys' on it, but I love it.

  • Because my life is so wild and crazy, I love to watch 'This Morning' funniest bits with Phil and Holly on YouTube, I just think these two are hilarious together!

  • Highschool Musical, I like all 3 of these bad boys, I really shouldn't but c'mon the songs are really catchy and Zac Effron is not harsh on the eyes.

  • This is going to sound weird but listening to someone talk with an accent. Literally if anyone one has a nice accent, I will happily sit for hours just listening to you say words, I find this really interesting, my favorite accents are New Zealand, South African, Canadian & Australian.

  • Old 90's music, its really cheesey but there is nothing wrong with banging on some spice girls from time to time, I'm not even guilty about this, it brightens up any day!

  • Crime!! I know this is a little strange but I really love street crime like fights or minor car crash's, I used to want to be a police woman because I loved the crime, thought it was such a rush and very exciting.

  • Old Disney Channel shows, like Lizzie Mcguire, That's so Raven, The Proud Family and The Suit Life Of Zack & Cody, what happened to Disney Channel...it used to be cool. I also miss the original films, like the Cheetah Girls and Jump In

  • Made In Chelsea (MIC) I am a huge fan of reality TV shows, but am so addicted to MIC its not even funny! My favorites are Spencer cause he's gorgeous!!! Mark Francis and Binky

  • My last guilty pleasure is watching The Jeremy Kyle show, I think this show is so funny to watch its ridiculous, this may sound a bit mean but watching the woman that come on the show really make me feel better about my life!

So that's just some of my guilty pleasures, I hope you enjoyed reading this and would love to hear about your guilty pleasures! Be sure to comment to let me know your thoughts!

What's In My Makeup Bag? (Essentials)

Everyone likes being nosy, no matter how much you deny it, be it eavesdropping on someone's conversation, peeping into the hot boys window next door to simply just have a nose in what someone bought or own. We love to have a sneak peak into someone's life, so I am going to share with you today what is in my makeup bag.
First off here is my makeup bag, this is what it looks like.

It is by Louis Vuitton. I have had this bag for a very long time now and I think I am in need of a new one (one day) I love the size of this one as I like to pop my essentials in and then throw it in my handbag, without it taking up the entire bag!

Opening up my makeup bag my first item is
Foundation
I am using the L'Oreal Infallible 24H foundation in Natural Rose 125.
I really love L'Oreal foundations, they have a wide selection of shades and I'm really enjoying the coverage and the way it sits on my face. I think the smell of it is lush, I don't know why I like it so much.

Mascara
By NYC called Sky Rise this is just a standard mascara, there's not much to complain about its quick and easy to apply, has a long wand and is quite slim.

Concealer
By Essence called Stay Natural in the shade natural nude 03. I'm going to be perfectly honest, this is not the beat concealer I have used, but its cheap & cheerful, does the job in tricky situations.

Liquid Eyeliner
I like to carry around liquid eyeliner just in case of last minute/unexpected events such as a party or dinner/lunch date. (I don't normally wear liquid eyeliner on a everyday basis) so I find that if I have to go somewhere I like to put this on so it looks like I made a bit of an effort! I am using Maybelline Master Duo Liquid Liner

Eye Shadow
I have the NYC HD Color, there are four colors in this little pallet. I liked this pallet because they are quite natural & basic shades. I like to bring this for a quick touch up on the eyes or brows. I use the brown mixed with the color next to it to fill in my eyebrows.

Powder
In then have Me Me Me Flawless Loose Powder this is great to have around for setting my foundation and keeping it in place. Also great for fighting back any oiliness.
This is a really good loose powder to have!

Brushes
Lastly I bring 3 brushes with me. The first brush is my Bellium Tools 781 eye shadow brush.

Secondly my Bare Essentials Flawless Face brush

Finally my angled brush by Eco Tools. I use this for my brows and to apply eye shadow on my water line.

So there you have it folks, its all a bit of a squeeze but there's an insider on what's in my makeup bag.
Please let me know what's in your makeup bag??
Hope you enjoyed this

Body Lotions

Heyo,
I am going to do a little body lotion review. This is only going to be a short one as I am only reviewing 3 lotions.
I am going to start off with
Yes To Carrots body butter. This is 'C Through The Dry Spell Deliciously Rich Body Butter'
I used to be OBSESSED with Yes To products, they are awesome because all the ingredients are natural, this is blended with carrot seed oil, has carrot juice, pumpkin, sweet potato and dead sea mud all crammed into one pot, which is bloody fantastic! This is really great for anyone suffering with dry skin, it keeps your skin moisturized for ages. The smell of it may not be everyone's cup of tea but I think it just smells really creamy and slightly sweet, it's a natural non chemically smell.

Secondly I have these two gems from a brand called Ginger & Co. I think they are quite a unknown brand but I thought I'd give them a go!
First I have this body lotion, it's called 'Soft On You Daily Lotion' it does make my skin really soft. The smell of this reminds me of Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash. It contains mallow, lemon balm and rose. The product packaging is in a 1950's style which I think adds a nice touch. I like how it feels on my skin as it's not too oily and takes seconds to absorb, it also leaves my skin smelling delicious!

I then got their hand cream called 'Hand It To Me Dreamy HandCream' it again has the same scent as the body lotion. This really keeps my hands soft and hydrated all day long. I feel it is very important to regularly moisturize hands as you are constantly using your hands all day, everyday and they can get dry, sore and damaged so pampering them from time to time is wonderful as they will definitely thank you for it!
Side note: The one thing I loved that is written on the tube is this 'every boy in the town will want to hold your hand' I just thought this was really sweet!

Let me know if you have ever tried these, and what your thoughts are in them!
